Global Warming

Ok, I'll be brief, coz I'm down to my last beer and a half. Global warming is getting a lot of news lately. According to statistics, this is the warmest it's been for this time of year since records began, 160 years ago(fact). And we are all to blame. CFC's, carbon emission's, and my favourite, leaving things on standby.
Now I have a problem with that. My DVD player is connected to my Sky box and is on permanent standby. Does this mean, to turn it off I have to disconnect it each time? There is no on/off switch for it. If i pull it's plug out, it disrupts my TV picture.
And if everyone has the same problem I do, pets, then we are all going to have the same thing happening the World over. The cat has another thing on the floor to play with. Or worse, the dog has something else to chew on.
And don't expect me to give you a solution, because until some bright spark comes up with some brilliant idea, my plugs stay put.
I only have one question, and I hope that my facts are straight. If we are suffering Global Warming, where the ice caps are melting and the sea levels are rising, why are we being told by scientist's all over the World that a new Ice Age is coming?
It's not like they can say, " We've seen it all before," because that isn't true. History has thrown a lot at this Planet, and for the most part, we had no say. If things are as bad as they now say, then we need to do something now.
On the other hand, if Disney or Pixar, or whoever, are talking about releasing Ice Age 4, then count me in.
