Is there a God? Religion versus Science
Let the creative juices flow. Do you think that God ( and i use the term loosely) had anything to do with that phrase? I'm not a God fan and never have been, but there are those out there that grasp the whole God thing. Me, nah! I was given the option when I went to Sunday School. I was about 5 or 6 years old, and thought, this is not for me, so I left and went home. I have to admit I was christened, same as my brother and sister, as Church of England. But what does any of that mean? Bugger all to me if I'm honest. I never had my kids christened, and my main reason was, simply, why should we condemn our children to something they may not believe in? My kids have all grown up, and are quite happy with their lives. God had no involvement. So, how much involvement did God have? Science is a great leveller. When you look at the Bible in it's basic form, there are more questions than answers, ( and this will be dealt with at a later date.) The obvious neglect of the Dinosaurs is just one point. What about the town of Bethlehem, that didn't actually exist at the time of His birth? The barn, or stable He was supposedly born in, was actually a basement, because that's where they kept their animals. The fact that Jesus was 300 years later than our calendar suggests. The Son of God? Why did God wait so long? The planet has been here for billions of years. Why wait until man makes an appearance, almost a million years ago and decide to have a son? Jesus was a known upstart, who hated the Romans, and was just out to cause as much trouble as He could. He had followers because no one else showed the same guts and determination. Would the Son of God really have gone to those lengths? When you consider the scientific FACTS, it's surprising He managed to live to be 33. Or is that another myth dragged through the Chinese Whispers of time? I could go on forever, but science seems to conquer religion every time, and I'm only an observer. And if I can see it......
