Last night was a moment in history when Ant and Dec made a brief appearance at the office. There was no abuse from the staff, or Management, mainly because the two people involved were managers. For a split second we had a couple of stars in our office. But when reality hit, it was two short people from either side of a not big enough Sea. Oh well, it was funny at the time.
How come there's an English Channel and an Irish Sea? Surely, anything coming from the East has England in the way. So why do the Irish get a sea and England only has a channel? And who decided that the channel was English. Maybe it sounds better than the French Channel. Channel de Francais is not the same is it? And don't be fooled by EDF, the electric supplier. EDF stands for Energie de France. We move on.
So the World Cup groups will be announced sometime today. England are amongst the seed teams with Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany and South Africa. Lots of European teams, but how have South Africa got a seed apart from being the host nation? The advantage for England is, if anything, the amount of English supporters that will be allowed into each Stadium. It has already been worked out to give the England team the bigger venues. That means better support for our boys, but also smacks of unfair treatment to the smaller Countries, ie Germany, Brazil and Argentina. Don't you find this a bit odd? And with a squad we can't even name yet, I personally think the hysteria is getting hysterical.
But it's the World Cup, and we love it. A couple of exploding referee's, and a few good goals and we will enjoy it as we always have done. Lets see what happens when the draw is made....and so to bed....zzzz
